Manatee County
Working the Manatee River, Anna Maria Sound, Terra Ceia Bay and Longboat Pass. The Manatee River is one of the best natural deep-water refuges on the Gulf coast, which is exactly why it accumulates long-term anchored vessels - and why a meaningful share of those become derelict. Palmetto and Bradenton have real working waterfront with lift capacity, and Anna Maria Island at the mouth carries a barrier-island population of boats with its own access problems.
The local constraint. The anchorages off Bradenton and up the Manatee River are a known derelict concentration. Removals from an anchorage are in-water jobs from the start, with a tow through Longboat Pass or up to a river yard before anything can be lifted.
