Working the New River, Port Everglades, Hillsboro Inlet and roughly 165 miles of navigable canal. Broward has more large private vessels per mile of waterway than anywhere else in the United States, and Fort Lauderdale's New River is the yachting service corridor for the entire hemisphere. That cuts both ways for removals: the infrastructure is outstanding, and the number of aging 40-60ft hulls quietly deteriorating behind private homes in Las Olas, Rio Vista, Coral Ridge and the Isles is correspondingly high.
The local constraint. The New River's fixed bridges and the tight bends above the Third Avenue bridge limit what can be towed upriver, and a great deal of Broward's canal frontage is private seawall with no yard access at all - which means a mobile crane over the house rather than a travel lift.
